Carefully moulded by loveless years of neglect and abuse, sculpted by the deft strokes of isolation and torment…his final form was inevitable. With stunted soul and malformed conscience he continues the lessons he was taught, the only human interaction he understands based upon blood, tears and pain. His mind a blurred mess of fantasy, scarring memory and absolute emptiness he spends his days like an automaton, replicating gestures and speech, imitating the living. Then as the sun sets, its light bleeding into the horizon, the existence that defines him begins; dark hours of hunting and torturing, violation and cruelty, mindless, purposeless, remorseless slaughter…
Anthony Cotter is compelled to stare into the abyss; to examine the horrifying minutiae of wickedness and perversion and immerse himself in the impenetrable darkness of warped human appetites. His nightmare visions are reflected in his writing and his artwork, but nowhere more potently and to such shocking affect as in the vicious sounds of his music. Under the name of AcidBrain Cotter has encased his spiteful and malicious imaginings in some of the most unsettling and uncompromising sounds ever unleashed. The second AcidBrain album, The Lust Murders, will slink from its filth encrusted cell on July 28th, dragging the dissected corpses of songs like the grotesque, groove infected ‘Intestinal Noose’ and the lurching, staggering beast that is ‘Post Decapitation Irrumatio’ behind it. From the bleak introduction of ‘The Lust Murders’ through a catalogue of unspeakable crimes and cruelties to the album’s closing track, a downright nasty cover of Slayer’s ‘Dead Skin Mask’, this latest outpouring of AcidBrain’s madness will leave you wanting to douse your brain in bleach to cleanse it of the rot and repugnance.
The Lust Murders follows on from the savagery of 2021 debut album Murderous and plunges everything into new depths of musical intensity, shocking violence and skin crawling atmosphere.
