- ‘In Utopia’Lizard Secrets Part Three - Utopia is the seventh full length studio album from Italian masters of heavy/power metal, Airborn – and the concluding part of the Lizard Secrets trilogy of albums, records that explore the challenges of the future in a series of sci-fi tales. The trilogy began back in 2018 with Part One - Land Of The Living and continued with 2020s Part Two - Age Of Wonder, each album featuring some of the strongest songs that Airborn have written in their long and storied career – and that run of greatness has continued with Utopia. Right from the very first notes of opener ‘Kings Of Melody’ you are swept up on a glorious tide of thunderous rhythms, wonderful choruses and exhilarating duelling guitars. Combining the thrill and energy of power metal with the hard-hitting riffs of traditional heavy metal and superb song writing, Airborn have created an album of soul stirring magnificence. From the biting riffs, measured pace and breathtaking solos of ‘Forever Is A Long Time Coming’ to the distinctive, dramatic ‘Oil’s Well That Doesn’t End Well’ – rich in nuance – the anthemic hard rock of ‘Lizard Detective Agency’ with its injections of metallic adrenaline to the sublime conclusion of ‘My Own World’ that sets a beautiful seal on this complete, cohesive album, Airborn display the consistency and quality to match the very best in the metal field.
