    METEORA – DISSONANCE EP

    LABEL: H-MUSIC

    RELEASE DATE: JANUARY 23rd 2026

We have passed through so many doors upon this journey it seems I am a different creature to the one who first set out in silence upon this road. The shadows seem deeper now and I no longer understand the ones I once held dear. Bonds I once cherished seem meaningless and the gulf between myself and others, impossible to bridge. I thought I was at an end to this odyssey but as I reach the once distant hilltop I find not rest and reflection, but flames that illuminate the night, desperate, dissonant cries that shatter the silence like my broken mind. It seems that this was all just a beginning…

“…I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep…”
    - Robert Frost

Back in the summer months of 2025 Hungary’s purveyors of innovative, emotive symphonic metal, Meteora, released the first in what would be a trilogy of EPs, In this Silence. As the leaves took on the colours of autumn In this Silence was followed by the second EP, Broken Mind – and now, in the heart of winter, Meteora are ready to unveil the final part in this story, Dissonance…

Dissonance begins with the lilting melodies and waltz-like rhythms of ‘Darkest Light’, a song rich in the drama and narrative style that typifies Meteora’s music. The band’s triple vocal blend is used to tremendous effect, with each voice – male, female and beast – bringing unique character to this outpouring of grand gothic darkness. An additional touch of finesse and sophistication is added by a guest guitar solo from Nils Courbaron of Sirenia and Bloodorn. The band explore themes of disassociation and alienation on the next song, ‘Shadows Of Ignorance’, which features a beautiful vocal performance from Noémi Holló. ‘Shadows Of Ignorance’ marks a hugely successful collaborative writing debut for guitarist Dániel Baranya and keyboard player/vocalist Atilla Király, suggesting that another fertile creative pathway has opened up for the band. Dissonance concludes with two of the heaviest songs that Meteora have yet recorded – ‘Dissonance – My Reality Pt IV’ – a dark, powerful piece of symphonic metal, driven by some immense harsh vocals and riding on a jagged, muscular guitar riff and then ‘Witch Hunt – Tragedy Of Delusion’, a spectacular piece of Wagnerian drama with touches of black metal that explores the whole, vast vista of Meteora’s sound, demonstrating the practically limitless potential that this band possess. Conjuring visions of flame and shadow this is a breathtaking creation, a wonderfully climactic way to conclude this outstanding trilogy of EPs.

As with In this Silence and Broken Mind, Meteora have worked with recording engineer Balázs Pálfi (Türböwitch etc) and the mixing and mastering team of Nino Helfrich (Thrash Cult, Traces Of A Life etc), Dmitry Kim (Khors, Arhat etc) and Joel Wanasek (Machine Head, Carnation, Dååth etc) to give Dissonance the perfect layered and powerful sound. Again, as with the previous EPs, the Dissonance cover art was created by Dronicon Films (Swallow The Sun, Katatonia, October Tide etc). Dissonance will be released via H-Music on January 23rd…and it will not be alone. On the same day Meteora will release the full length album Darkest Light, which brings together all the music from the trilogy of EPs into one incredible package. This may be the end of a remarkable chapter for Meteora, but you have the sense that this project has unleashed a creative force that will not soon be stilled. Without a doubt this special band have many, many miles to go before they sleep…
