UNBOUNDED TERROR – SOMETHING IS ROTTEN IN HUMANITY LABEL: XTREEM MUSIC RELEASE DATE: APRIL 1st 2025
Welcome to the world we have created…hewn from the raw substance of our greed and perversion, our endless fascination with cruelty and consumption. Our morality has withered in the gluttonous glare of our lust and our conscience has bled out from the innumerable wounds we have inflicted upon it. We exist in a kingdom of death, of jagged monuments to selfish egotism and raging waters of desensitization. The sentinels of wickedness scour this wasteland for any trace of empathy, any remnants of mercy, compassion and decency…but they are all long, long dead. Truly, something is rotten within the withered shell of humanity.
Something Is Rotten In Humanity is the new album from the legendary pioneers of Spanish death metal, Unbounded Terror! Featuring nine new tracks of dark, primal power this album is a magnificent testament to Unbounded Terror’s enduring potency and unique take upon the dark arts of death. The standards are set right from the opening chords of first track, ‘Fear Of Dying’, which attacks with a nasty, snarling immediacy. All the key elements of the Unbounded Terror sound are here; the irresistible riffs, the juddering rhythms, the vocals that sound like undead invective, spewed from the mouth of a reanimated corpse and the guitar leads, full of otherworldly melody, that twist and ascend, dive and cascade in captivating fashion. If all that sounds like great, but standard fare, then think again…there is something about Unbounded Terror that sets them apart; something in their chord progressions, their note choices, their song structures and fetid atmosphere that gives them a special aura like no other. Songs like ‘Demons In Your Mind’ and first single ‘Reviving’ are propelled forward on old school death metal riffing and adorned in superb solos, but what makes them special is that indefinable ancient magic that belongs to Unbounded Terror and to them alone. Death metal fans need to hear the crushing, unstoppable war machine that is ‘Divine Virtue’ and the thunderous headbanging riffing of ‘The Disappointment’. Unbounded Terror have delivered the album of their career and surely one of the death metal albums of 2025!
Produced and recorded by the band’s own Vicente J Payá (Golgotha, Sons Of Cult etc) and mixed and mastered by Davide Billia (Avulsed, Holycide, Posthuman Abomination etc), Something Rotten In Humanity sounds absolutely devastating – exactly how grim, rotten death metal should sound – and its ghastly demeanour is completed by the artwork of Juan Castellano (Furnace, Vomitory, Ribspreader etc) which captures its grim spirit perfectly. The album will be released by Xtreem Music on CD (featuring a bonus track), 12"LP, cassette and digital formats on April 1st and the name of Unbounded Terror will once more ring through the shadow shrouded vaults of the dead.
