Ural - Anthropic Genetic Involution

  • Ural
    URAL – ANTHROPIC GENETIC INVOLUTION

    LABEL: XTREEM MUSIC

    RELEASE DATE: APRIL 23rd 2026

Nobility degraded, nature disfigured…tooth and claw, blade and bullet, animal and war machine made one. Flesh and circuitry, bone and steel, fused and driven by a single terrifying purpose, an absolute need to kill and destroy. The party is over and the time for fun is finished; now the world must burn. Pain maddened, blood hungry, consumed with an undeniable need for vengeance – the wolf beast is unleashed!

Since 2010 the Turin based wolves of Ural have been blending full-force thrash metal with crossover adrenaline and a willingness to step outside the confining boundaries of genre. Three explosive full-length albums – Party With The Wolves, Just For Fun and most recently Psychoverse – along with a brace of EPs, have carved their name into the hearts of thrashers everywhere. Now the pack are ready to unveil their fourth album, their second for the renowned Xtreem Music label and their most ferocious and far reaching to date – Anthropic Genetic Involution!

Anthropic Genetic Involution’s opening track, ‘Extreme Paranoia’, delivers an array of Ural’s exceptional traits right off the bat – clear, powerful lead vocals, jagged, spikey riffs, touches of VoiVod-ian dissonance, outstanding, fluid solos…awesome elements hit you from every angle. Tracks like ‘God Of Lies’ encompass so much musical diversity in such a cohesive, finely honed form, delivering thrash at its freewheeling, expansive, creative best. As the album powers on through ‘Open Scars’ you can never be certain where Ural are going to take you; they’re always one step ahead and that ability to surprise keeps everything fresh and interesting. At the same time, a song like ‘Rat In A Cage’ is supremely satisfying, bringing together crossover adrenaline, inherent melody and accomplished songcraft, topping it all off with a searing solo of classic metal brilliance. In fact the lead guitar work throughout this album is simply brilliant! A real unexpected twist comes in the form of ‘Flat Black’ – a savage reinterpretation of a classic tune from jazz trombonist J.J. Johnson. Meanwhile an absolute highlight is the vehement, burning thrash attack of ‘Terror Eyes’, where complexity and ferocity entwine to stunning effect. Towards its conclusion ‘Terror Eyes’ finally breaks down into a great snarling riff with another amazing solo dancing in its flames, before tumbling straight into final track ‘…To Change Your Vision’; a grinding, atmospheric coda, a final act of measured riffing and tension as the Ural wolfpack head back to their lair once more.

By retaining the services of producer Davide Billia (Avulsed, Beheaded, Holy Terror etc), who harnessed the lightning of Ural’s Cyber Requiem EP and Psychoverse album, the band have captured the perfect sound for Anthropic Genetic Involution – sharp, crisp, clear and powerful. Ural have also kept up their successful working relationship with artist Luca SoloMacello (Elvenking, Pentagram, Wormwood etc) – who has created the most impactful Ural cover art yet! Anthropic Genetic Involution will be released by Xtreem Music on CD and digital formats on April 23rd and is set to be one of the most exciting and energized thrash releases of 2026.
