The Comancheros prepare to release A Decade In The Mirror
February 17, 2025
Formed in 2015, The Comancheros have established themselves as a band with a sound all their own, a potent blend of southern rock, country, Americana, balladry and integrity that they call Heavy and Western. The last ten years have seen the band working with the likes of Richard Young from the Kentucky Headhunters – who describes The Comancheros as “ZZ Top goes Star Wars” – releasing an array of albums, EPs and split releases and playing live with Blackberry Smoke, The Cadillac Three, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and many, many more as they’ve toured across Europe and the States. A lot has happened since this band began and a ten year anniversary is always an occasion worth marking, so The Comancheros have put together a very special collection of favourites, rarities and never before released takes to create a landmark release…A Decade In The Mirror. Beginning with three tracks that have never been released in physical format before – the laidback, melancholy groove of ‘The Day George Jones Died’, the hard rocking, understated grit of the anthemic ‘We Own The Night’ and the campfire carousing of ‘Too Old To Die Young Now’ – The Comancheros set out their diversity, rough honesty and emotive songcraft right from the start. A Decade In The Mirror then takes us on an unforgettable ride through blazing guitar work, introspective reflection, quietly powerful, raw emotions and gnarly full force rock. From the deeply traditional ‘Black Wizard’, rooted in the past, to raucous, whiskey soaked live renditions of ‘We Own The Night’ and ‘If I Could Pick A Way To Go’, A Decade In The Mirror is a remarkable trip through the ever evolving sound and story of the world’s premier purveyors of Heavy and Western – The Comancheros. A Decade In The Mirror will be released on March 22nd, with Rottweiler Records handling the digital format and The Comancheros themselves launching the CD with a live show at The Basement in Nashville, with support from C.C. Gray. You may have been riding with The Comancheros for years now, or you may just be discovering the music that No Clean Singing describes as a “smooth and smoky brand of musical misery”, but one thing’s for sure – A Decade In The Mirror is an essential travelling companion.
