Mortal Scepter prepare to release Ethereal Dominance

French Deathrashers Mortal Scepter were formed in Dunkirk in 2012, born to follow in the footsteps of their pioneering countrymen Loudblast, Mercyless, Massacra and Agressor. From the beginning they had an ability to blend the rabid qualities of Germanic thrash with the savage sounds of primal, old school death metal and inject the heady mixture with their own unique style - a style that invoked the spirit of the mid-‘80s whilst remaining fresh and vital. Their songs were delivered with skill and precision, but also with a savage intensity and rhythmic awareness that demanded a fierce gut reaction. After issuing their first EP, As Time Sharpens The Sentence, through Unspeakable Axe Records, Mortal Scepter moved to Xtreem Music for the 2019 release of acclaimed debut album Where Light Suffocates…and since then fans have been waiting impatiently for album number two.

Now, after six years, the new album from Mortal Scepter is finally about to be unleashed! Ethereal Dominance features eight songs of classic, ripping thrash and darkly powerful death. From the explosive opener, ‘Ethereal Dominance’ itself to the majestic, crowning glory of the epic finale, ‘Into The Wolves Den’, this album is an absolute masterclass in the ancient arts of thrash and death metal. Be it the snarling, searing addictive rush of ‘Submit To The Crave’ or the killer solo and masterful delivery of ‘Reverse Paradigm’, these songs are exquisite expositions of aggression and musicianship that will tear an audience to shreds in the live arena. The neck-breaking ‘Blindsight’ weaves passages of enthralling atmosphere into its tapestry of terror while ‘Omegacide Deadrays’ delivers its payload of death with military precision. The consistency throughout is breathtaking, both in terms of song writing and individual performances. Mortal Scepter have come of age in quite staggering fashion.

Adorned in the striking artwork of Jon Whiplash - who also captured the visual essence of As Time Sharpens The Sentence and Where Light Suffocates - Ethereal Dominance will be unleashed by Xtreem Music on September 9th on vinyl, CD, cassette and digital formats. Superbly recorded and mixed by Raph Henry (Mercyless, Carcolh etc) and immaculately mastered by Benoît Roux (Alcest, Anorexia Nervosa etc), Ethereal Dominance has been given the sonic force to hit home with the maximum impact. Mortal Scepter have returned, back from the black with all guns blazing!
