Ültra Raptör prepare to release Fossilized

Ültra Raptör were first hatched in Québec City, Canada in 2015 with the goal of bringing together German speed metal, US power metal, fantasy, sci-fi and dinosaurs! Their first, self titled EP was unleashed in 2018 and the wild riff frenzy of full length debut album, Tyrants, followed in 2021, picking up an array of glowing reviews from around the world. Dead Rhetoric hoped that Tyrants would be “just the beginning of a successful and productive career” and the signs are that those hopes were not in vain… Ültra Raptör are back with another album of high energy speed metal and classic heavy metal - and dinosaurs of course! Get ready to be Fossilized!

Everything that Tyrants had to offer is delivered ten times over by Ültra Raptör’s incredible second album. Beginning with its explosive title track, Fossilized proceeds to fire out nine songs of irresistible metal power, augmented by one beautiful guitar interlude. Vocalist Phil T. Lung has fantastic range and just enough rough edges and individual character to avoid sounding too clean and polished, while his stratospheric screams on the likes of ‘Spinosaurus’ are simply electrifying. It’s no exaggeration to say that every track on Fossilized is a stone cold killer – from the huge riffs and stunning lead work of ‘Bitter Leaf’ to the unbridled energy and melody of ‘X-Celerator (Feel The Power)’ which captures the pure joy of metal. ‘Living For The Riff’ is exactly what it needs to be with that title and the concluding ‘Face The Challenge’ is the perfect unifying metal anthem. Even the aforementioned guitar interlude, ‘Le Voyageur d'Oort’, a deft display of skill and an emotive evocation of atmosphere, is an intrinsic part of this metal masterpiece. With great choruses, stunning solos, drum beats that land like knockout punches and utterly exhilarating riffs coming at you from every angle, Fossilized is a breathtaking display of metal magnificence.

Every weapon in the Ültra Raptör arsenal is allowed to shine thanks to the meticulous recording, mixing and mastering of David Lizotte (Saccage, Warning Sign etc) and the cover art, created by Mario E. Lopez M (Evil Invaders, Crystal Viper, Heavy Load etc) is the distillation of Ültra Raptör’s glorious sonic madness into visual form. It all adds up to one hell of a metal payload!
