Formed in 2023, Manchester, UK based weavers of dark tales and darker atmospheres, Reliquia, have been carving out a niche for themselves in the underground music scene with a series of haunting singles and numerous powerful and emotive live invocations. Due in no small part to the recording, mixing and mastering skills of the in demand Joe Clayton (Ba'al, Conjurer, Aggressive Perfector etc) and Ben McEwan, who worked on many of Reliquia's early single releases, In Theory And Practice sounds breathtaking, with each of its contrasting elements blending and transforming in liquid perfection - nothing ever jarring or threatening to shatter the hold of the immersive experience. The finishing touch comes in the form of the eerie, unsettling artwork of Chris Kiesling aka Misanthropic Art (Katatonia, Demonical, Mortuary Drape etc) - a reminder of the danger that lurks between the layers of richly textured sound.
