THE MACHINIST - TOWERS EP

LABEL: INDEPENDENT RELEASE
RELEASE DATE: APRIL 7th 2026
Surrounded by a mindless swarm of vicious, vindictive, selfish parasites - consuming and destroying, stealing and defiling; gifted beauty and hungering only for filth. The stewards of Eden have become the vandals of creation - paying lip service to a senile, senseless god while they incinerate the world. My only dream for the future is the purging of the human infection and a return to the silent perfection, the lightless omnipotence of the void.
“Ravaging like locusts in season. Rendering down flesh and bone.
Revel in death and the tearing with teeth…”
- Cellular Catharsis - The MachinistFollowing in the scorched earth footsteps of their critically acclaimed second album, Contempt For Life, Manchester's purveyors of harsh, bleak, mechanized extremity, The Machinist, are set to unleash a punishing new EP - the uncompromising onslaught of nihilistic venom that is Towers. The three blistering tracks included were written during the same creative invocations that gave birth to the Contempt For Life album but at that time had yet to find their final form. As such these songs, now fully armed and armoured, represent the last gasp of that unforgiving era in The Machinist's constant evolution, an excoriating coda to the bitter blast of Contempt For Life before The Machinist reload and set their sights on fresh targets. It is time to enter the blasted wastelands of The Machinist once more and gaze upon the monument to desolation that is Towers…
“Annihilate man! Annihilate man! Annihilate man!”
- Of Creation And Cancer - The MachinistTowers begins with the harnessed chaos of 'Sagittarius In Bloom', The Machinist riding the winds of mayhem as only they can. But of course, history has taught us that this is one band that never just follow a simple, predictable path; the song slips into a passage of tranquil contrast, which is then shattered by an eruption of madness. Vast, choir like vocal melodies, extravagant flourishes of guitar - the mechanized clashes with the spiritual, dissonance takes up arms against musicality and a pervading, teeth-grinding intensity permeates all. 'Sagittarius In Bloom' is a complex, overwhelming, multifaceted beginning to this high velocity ride to the edge of everything. The jagged violence of 'Of Creation And Cancer' follows with demonic vocals and a ferocious display of outlandish musical weaponry. This is the sound of alien gods and cyborg war machines torn apart inside an insane threshing machine, while galloping rhythms carry us over vast disintegrating star systems. This is mind destroying stuff…and the most epic expression of musical extremism is still to come. Towers finishes with 'Cellular Catharsis', a constantly transforming anthem of despair and the total repudiation of existence that hurtles into the inferno of an exploding sun, blasting through solar flares in a blaze of defiant, burnt and blackened majesty. Towers brings together three tracks that could not be left behind, an eruption of fury that demanded to be heard.
“Beyond all hope and any thought of Salvation, I burn.”
- Cellular Catharsis - The MachinistMixed and mastered by George Nerantzis (Abbath, Dark Funeral, Rotting Christ etc) Towers sounds dominant and impregnable - a howling storm of incomprehensible power. Completed by the evocative artwork of Duncan MacPherson (Extinction Of Mankind etc) Towers will be unleashed on April 7th and the walls of reality will shatter.
